A New Friend
Un Amigo Nuevo
An afternoon at the park, a boy named Yusuf, a bag of dates and a backpack of mangoes.
Una tarde en el parque, un niño llamado Yusuf, una bolsita de dátiles y una mochila de mangos.
It was a beautiful afternoon.
The wind was soft.
Papá said, “Let’s go to the park, mi cielo.”
Marshal’s tail wagged hard.
Era una tarde bonita.
El viento estaba suave.
Papá dijo: “Vamos al parque, mi cielo.”
Marshal movió la cola bien fuerte.

Papá brought the ball.
Sofía brought her little cap.
Marshal brought his leash in his mouth.
The three of them walked along, happy together.

And then Sofía saw them too.
A papá and a little boy.
The papá had a small white cap.

“Mmm, Papá, so good!”

Yusuf tried it slowly.
And his eyes opened wide.
